Primer to IYC Pilipinas

After 5 years in existence, the International Youth Council finally made its presence land in the Philippines, IYC's first chapter in the Southeast Asia.

IYC in the Philippines is known as the Pandaigdigang Sangguniang Kabataan or simply IYC Pilipinas. The movement started with different youth leaders coming from youth organizations who believed that young Filipinos should be given the opportunity to be given a voice and representation to the United Nations General Assembly.
IYC Pilipinas is founded by around 20 young people from different parts of the Philippines and is spearheaded by its able, dedicated and dynamic 1st National Council:

National Chairperson: Alvin Cloyd Dakis
Executive Secretary: Maricor Anne Cauton

Program Officer: Jonathan Monis
Finance Officer: Neil Fidelle Lomibao
Media Relations Officer: Celine Bernadette Francisco
Policy Reform Officer: Jose Mateo Dela Cruz

The four (4) Island Convernors, representatives-at-large of members coming from the four main island regions of the Philippines are:
NCR Convenor: John Lesther Mercader
Luzon Convenor: Billy Jay Guansing
Visayas Convenor: Xavier Lobos
Mindanao Convenor: Lornito Mahinay
